LimeWire es una aplicación que te permite intercambiar ficheros de usuario a usuario usando la red de Gnutella.
LimeWire es similar al antiguo Napster, sólo que LimeWire te permite buscar, intercambiar o descargar tanto ficheros MP3 como películas, imágenes, juegos, documentos, etc.
LimeWire también posee filtros para las búsquedas, capacidad para hojear los ficheros de los usuarios, y la posibilidad de conectarte a los diferentes grupos de Gnutella basándose en la situación geográfica, velocidad o contenido.
Es muy rápido con las búsquedas, y además permite mantener varias al mismo tiempo.
Cambios recientes en LimeWire:
• Corrección de errores
• Añadida información de depuración sobre los paquetes UDP enviados y errores en descargas
Para utilizar LimeWire necesitas:
• Sistema operativo: Win95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP
• Memoria RAM: 64 MB
• Requiere Java2TM Runtime Enviroment 1.3.1 que, si no tienes instalado, procederá a descargarlo e instalarlo automáticamente.
• Tamaño: 4.8Mb
